I'm a Minneapolis based User Experience (UX) Researcher, Strategist and Designer with 15 years of experience helping organizations ideate user-centric solutions for complex problems. In the past I was also a Frontend Developer and Industrial Designer.
I started my professional career as an Industrial Designer at an experiential marketing agency in Argentina, 15 years ago. My job was to help create playful and engaging experiences involving technology for brands like Disney, The Coca-Cola Company, Nike to name a few. These on-site experiences were pretty successful but clients started requesting help in the digital space as well. My role then evolved to the mapping of digital interfaces that ranged from complex tridimensional and immersive animations to digital newspapers and microsites.
It soon became apparent to me that I really enjoyed the problem-solving aspect of this work, the time spent with users and stakeholders to understand pain points, business needs and uncover opportunities, and working along with designers and developers to create the magic.
In my free time, I taught myself how to code and in the next few years, I continued to grow professionally working for boutique and global software development companies.
In 2011 I got the opportunity to co-found and launch Polisofia, an open innovation start-up that helped organizations improve their products and services by crowdsourcing their innovation needs using TeDesafia, an open innovation web platform. The company also acted as an innovation consultant, creating design thinking workshops to promote innovation inside organizations.
We were selected by Wayra, Telefonica's start-up accelerator in Latam, and received seed funding, office space, and mentoring for 6 months.
As Head of Product, my job was to define the IA & UX of our different products (open innovation platforms) as well as doing frontend development and working with our team of backend developers to handle integration.
After two years of working 24/7 it was time for me to focus on my major and finish University. In order to do so, I embarked on a freelance career which gave me the freedom to work on all sorts of projects across different industries and geographic locations, where I was able to exercise my skills as a multidisciplinary designer and developer. In addition to designing websites and mobile applications, I designed and developed tangible products and exhibits.
In 2014 I moved to Minneapolis where I spent a year working for a global consulting firm to create a number of digital products for one of the largest Health Benefits Administrators in the US.
While I enjoyed the challenges of being a consultant and leading an amazing team off-shore, I felt very distant from my new home and not challenged enough. I was eager to work with a local company that was mission-driven where I'd be able to do purposeful work and have an impact on the community. I joined Clockwork, where for two years I worked alongside a team of incredible designers and developers to craft digital solutions for a variety of leading clients across industries: retail, healthcare, education, government, and non-profits.
In December I decided to return to freelance work so I could spend more time with my family. Since then I've worked as a consultant helping clients around the world map their digital products and services.
In my free time you can find me biking/hiking around the beautiful Minnesota lakes and state parks with my husband and one-year-old son, spending time with friends, learning about new technologies and design trends, exchanging ideas with other designers, and mentoring emerging ones - and, my favorite one: traveling the world.
